Mary Petrie, Ph.D. is a faculty member at Inver Hills Community College, where she teaches in the English and Gender & Women’s Studies Department. She’s the recipient of a number of writing and professional awards, including a Loft McKnight Creative Nonfiction Award, Minnesota State Arts Board Grant, CEE Senior Teaching Fellow ship at the University of Minnesota and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Writing and Editing at Inver Hills.
Her writing has appeared in a variety of publications, including The New York Times, Minnesota Parent, Rake Magazine, and Sexual Harassment: Women Speak Out. Her professional interests are in feminist theory, creative writing and online pedagogy. Mary is a certified Quality Matters peer reviewer and an expert on online teaching; she’s currently writing a book on online education. Her first novel, At the End of Magic, was published in June 2014.
